‘Is Mitt Minding The Store?’
Election 2012 piece by Aaron Goldstein
(1/31/12)
Mitt Romney’s performance in last Thursday’s GOP debate in Jacksonville was widely praised for his assertiveness against Newt Gingrich and it may have effectively neutralized the former House Speaker’s victory five days earlier in South Carolina. If Romney earns a decisive victory in Florida, it could prove to be the turning point in winning the Republican nomination. But his debate performance should have instead raised a big red flag.

Correctly Framing the 2012 Elections
Election 2012 piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(12/29/11)
As the nation lurches into the 2012 election season, the propagandists of the liberal media have gone into high gear. Their singular job is to prevent the American people from correctly assessing the precarious condition of their country, what needs to be done about it and, most dangerously of all, who among the major Republican contenders could best assume the helm of the nation’s government in order to implement a proper course of action.

Evidence, finally, of Democrat naivete
Useful Idiots piece by Gary Krasner
(12/22/11)
Democrats created what they thought was a good wedge issue in foreign policy, and since about 2006 or so----after the Iraq war became sufficiently unpopular----they advanced it in the form of the mantra, “we must talk to our enemies.”

Topeka, Kansas, Unified School District 501 Places Sexual Deviancy on Its Curriculum
Edukshun piece by Paul A. Ibbetson
(11/26/11)
What part should schools play in the personal development of our children? Most parents naturally expect teachers and administrative staff to assist their children in learning important skills like reading, writing, and arithmetic, but we now know a child’s development goes far beyond the basics at school. Upon closer inspection, most parents recognize that schools often teach children additional skills, such as how to interact with others, follow rules, think critically, and in many cases, develop career aspirations for what their Mom’s and Dad’s hope will be a bright and happy future. All this instruction is positive and benefits our children. However, there is more still that students will learn.

The Religious Right unites with the Religious Renegades, Part 2
Culture Wars piece by OffSite
(6/10/11)
My purpose for writing this article is not to discredit, scold or embarrass the Christian Right (CR) for their part in helping to advance the bizarre beliefs of a renegade movement known as the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). My words are intended to be loving but firm. (Eph 4:15)

Why 2012 May Be Starkly Different From 1996
Election 2012 piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(6/9/11)
Ever since the elections of 2010, the propagandists of the left have been proclaiming America’s shift back to the “middle,” meaning away from the fervent conservatism that undergirded last fall’s landslide. Sadly, even some on the right have accepted such drivel, and consequently sought to soften the strident tone of the 2009-2010 grassroots revolt against the encroaching statist monster that threatens the nation.

President Obama’s phony accounting on the auto industry bailout
ObamaNation piece by OffSite
(6/8/11)
With some of the economic indicators looking a bit dicey, President Obama traveled to Ohio last week to tout what the administration considers a good-news story: the rescue of the domestic automobile industry. In fact, he also made it the subject of his weekly radio address.
Irksome Things
Elections piece by OffSite
(6/8/11)
There are a lot of things, large and small, that irk me. One of them is our tendency to evaluate a presidential candidate based on his intelligence or academic credentials.

Destroying the Dollar
Dollar piece by Alan Caruba
(6/5/11)
Something I never thought I would ever see in my former hometown, a wealthy New Jersey suburb of New York City, was a Dollar Store, but one opened recently in a former supermarket. Dollar Stores are giving Wal-Mart, Target, and similar outlets a run for their money and it’s not hard to see why. The local one has just about everything you could need and all for astonishing low prices.

National Debt piece by J.J. Jackson

The Difference A Donkey Makes…
General piece by Gerald A. Honigman
(6/3/11)
Let me begin by stating that there is a tradition in both Judaism and, much later, Islam to treat animals in a humane way. And, in the modern age of factory farming and such--with all the inhumane practices which accompany them--none but the vegetarian comes out really looking good on this matter. Still, having stated this, there are some vey real differences in practice. A mere glance at Wikipedia, for example, at how animals are used by some folks (especially, guess who ?) to commit atrocities against others is educational… (1)

No more free lunch!
Welfare State piece by OffSite
(6/2/11)
If you still believe there is no such thing as a free lunch, you haven’t been to school lately. On any given school day 31.6 million children sit down to a hot meal in the school cafeteria. Sixty-three percent of those meals are free, or virtually free.

Family Facing $4 Million in Fines for Selling Bunnies
Big Brother piece by OffSite
(6/1/11)
Almost nine months after a Missouri dairy was ordered to stop selling cheese made from raw milk, I share details of another hare-raising story from the Show-Me State: John Dollarhite and his wife Judy of tiny Nixa, Mo., have been told by the USDA that, by Monday, they must pay a fine exceeding $90,000.

More than the Start of Summer
State Of The Onion piece by Guest:
Armand C. Hale (5/30/11)
Over the past century more than 35 million men and women answered the call to arms in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Iraq, and countless unnamed military engagements. More than half a million of them never came home. Some died in battle. Others in captivity. All died too soon. Recent military action in Afghanistan and Iraq has offered fresh reminders of the human reality of war. Ordinary men and women leaving homes and families and all they know to risk their lives for an ideal of honor, or duty, or just to protect the soldier next to them. People of patriotism and goodwill may debate the merits of any given war, police action, or humanitarian mission. But there should be no debate about our debt to the hundreds of thousands of our citizens who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives heeding the nation’s call to service. Memorial Day is more than the start of summer. It is a chance to pause and remember the sacrifices. Remember the gallantry and bravery. Remember the fallen. Source: From Beliefnet-dot-com(1)

Democrats Plan: Destroy U.S. Healthcare So They Can Re-Build it in Socialist Image
ObamaCare piece by Warner Todd Huston
(5/28/11)
Obama and his Democrat pals have been lying to you, America. They do not want to find a cure for America’s obviously ailing healthcare system. They want to erect its headstone. Democrats want to destroy every aspect of our healthcare system. They have to, you see, because if they don’t they cannot rebuild it to operate under a socialist model. More proof of that was highlighted by Conn Carroll earlier in the week at the Washington Examiner(1).

‘Where’s the Outrage?’
War piece by Robert R. Owens
(5/27/11)
In the best line(1) of a lackluster campaign Bob Dole challenged the voters who were swallowing the liberal line of the Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media. At the time they were carrying the water for Bill Clinton in the 1996 election. By that time Mr. Clinton’s Bimbo Eruptions(2) and complete lack of ethics had become common knowledge but the unengaged in fly-over country were lapping up the Clinton mantra(3) “Character Doesn’t Matter” and preparing to not vote in droves.

‘Green’ Products and Free Market Conflicts
GreeenIsm piece by Paul A. Ibbetson
(5/26/11)
In recent years the move toward green products and technologies has gone into overdrive. Everything from the expansion of windmills and solar technologies to the hard rush toward passenger vehicles that run on alternative fuels is in the media. Few people disagree that America needs to continue to develop more efficient and cost-effective products. However, what has been a bone of contention with many consumers is the way in which many within the “green” movement have gone about attempting to integrate these new technologies into the market.

By the Numbers
National Debt piece by Doug Edelman
(5/25/11)
Pundits, wonks, politicos and analysts will often toss around a lot of numerical data in making their points or providing their analysis… but they often cite the raw data without realizing that the vast bulk of their audience does not comprehend the numbers and their eyes glaze over! They’re just now starting to grasp the difference between millions and billions, and they haven’t yet inculcated the concept of a trillion into their collective consciousness!

Suspected Ozone Loss May Never Have Involved CFC’s
GreeenIsm piece by Kevin Roeten
(5/24/11)
It was done recently with Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW), just as 20-30 years ago with Ozone Depletion. With AGW, it was hyped to be a destroyer of ecology, and a harbinger of possible death. Instead, people found natural variations changing earth’s climate, from hot to cold. It’s seems likely natural variations affect the ozone as well.
So Much for Those Unbreakable Bonds
Foreign Policy piece by Aaron Goldstein
(5/24/11)
If you hear President Obama speak about the “unbreakable bonds” between the United States and Israel then chances are he has probably just said or done something to fritter away at those bonds.
Quietly We Go Like Sheep to the Slaughter
Progressivism piece by Nathan Tabor
(5/24/11)
When President Jimmy Carter and the U.S. Congress created the U.S. Department of Energy, little did Americans know at the time that pencil-pushing bureaucrats would slowly and silently create a colossus centralized government power.

The Constitution Failed
The Republic piece by Robert R. Owens
(5/21/11)
People often ask me, “How could you write a book entitled The Constitution Failed?"(1) If the Constitution was written to ensure a limited government and if today we have an unlimited central government my question is, “How can anyone contend that the Constitution hasn’t failed?”

Children’s Book Publisher Collapses to Radical Environmentalist Pressure
GreeenIsm piece by Warner Todd Huston
(5/20/11)
Extremist environmentalists have won yet another victory for propagandizing our children in schools by forcing Scholastic Books to junk a proposed energy-themed classroom education packet that treated the subject in a more even handed mode in favor of a program that only pushes extremist enviro policies. Yes, once again, the hard-core, anti-capitalist left has won a victory to control what our kids are taught in our schools.

Obama vs. Israel
ObamaNation piece by Alan Caruba
(5/16/11)
Is Obama a Muslim? Does Obama hate Israel? Will Israel be attacked again? Will Iran nuke Israel? Has Maghreb and Middle Eastern turmoil flummoxed the White House? Why did Obama bow to Saudi Arabia’s king? Questions, questions, questions?

Standards? We don’t need no stinking standards!
Economics piece by Guest:
Michael R. Shannon (5/15/11)
If it’s spring, it must be time for another round of stories focused on executives and compensation. Sure enough, the Wall Street Journal reports the median value of “salaries, bonuses and long–term incentive awards” for the jefe’s of 350 large companies rose 11 percent last year, while the median age of their trophy wives declined 10 percent.

‘Republicans Fighting Their Own Right-To-Work Measures?’
Republicrats piece by Warner Todd Huston
(5/11/11)
The Associated Press is reporting(1) that resistance to right-to-work laws is coming from a surprising source in many states where the legislation has been lately introduced. It seems that Republicans themselves are divided on the efficacy of right-to-work laws and are busy obstructing other Republicans that are for such laws.

Progressivism piece by OffSite
