GOP - Golden Opportunities Prevail

Now that the Republicans have made it to Dunkirk will they ever make it to D Day? Everyone with a key board, a microphone or a video camera feels it’s time to give some friendly advice to the GOP and since I have a keyboard I guess it’s my turn.
If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything. Look to your roots. Define your core principles and values then defend them to the death if necessary. At least then you’ll have fought the good fight and not died for a bridge to nowhere. Everything from the economy to society the international situation to the financial collapse is handing the GOP all the issues necessary to appeal to what is still a center-right nation.
According to the ever-present haven’t-got-a-clue rent-a-experts the economy is either swirling down the drain, just about to hit bottom or beginning to grow. The Democrat juggernaut in Washington seems determined to establish a centrally-planned economy so they can protect us from ourselves, level the playing field and make everything fair. From Fannie, Freddie to GM the economy offers plenty of room for a supposedly capitalistic personal liberty party to stand for fiscal sanity, economic freedom and independence.
Socially the political class is presiding over a silent invasion which combined with the demographic demon of late marriages and few children will submerge our nation into a cultural tornado where E Pluribus Unum (Out of Many One) becomes E Unum Pluribus (Out of One Many). The melting pot becomes a smelting pot as Mexifornia leads the way into the Balkans and Comprehensive Immigration Reform leads to a permanent Democrat majority. Meanwhile gay marriage imposed by the courts spreads state-by-state no matter how many people vote against it until it eventually gets to the supreme court where suddenly constructionist Justices will discover that Article IV Section 1 states, “Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State.” Meaning if a contract is valid in one state it is valid in all states and a marriage license is a contract. Traditional values may sound trite but most Americans still know what values they believe in and they vote to uphold them every chance they get.
The men and women, the heroes who defend our nation don’t run they’ve borne every burden, climbed every hill and in all too many instances given the last full measure to allow the rest of us to live lives of peace and safety. The problem we face is that while the colors don’t run, and the heroes don’t run, our leaders from Korea to Vietnam have not only run they’ve thrown away the hard won victories of those who haven’t. Since 9-11 our enemies have said, “Keep fighting America will retreat, keep fighting the American’s don’t have the will to resist.” Foreign affairs in our new Omerica are defined by slow-motion surrender and apology tours. This is open door for a party that stands-up for America.
Between 2000 and 2007 more U S dollars were created than from George the Third to George the Second. In the new Oconomy the presses have gone into hyper-drive. In addition the Oministration projects more debt in their first budget then the combined debt of every other administration since the founding. Having faced down the USSR and won the Cold War are we retracing the steps of Britain which stood against Hitler only to stand upon its own funeral pyre sinking from the greatest empire the world had ever known to a backbench client of the United States. Monetary policy may do what the Soviet Union failed to do knock America off the pinnacle of power. Here’s an issue tailor made for a party which once preached fiscal sanity and budgetary restraint.
What of our man of the moment? Does his change leave any hope that we can believe in? Our National Community Organizer has yet to see a foreign leader he won’t apologize to for America’s brazen history of serial rescue missions to pull Europe’s chestnuts out-of-the-fire, feeding the starving of the world and paying the bill so that gaggle of tin-horn dictators and woman abusers called the U N can live like kings in New York and bite the hand that feeds them. Now our Commander-O-Chief wants to bull doze neighborhoods in America’s cities. The GOP might suggest he start at 760 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY.
How many issues does the GOP need to stage a comeback? What could the Grand Old Party do to win back conservative workhorses who’ve switched to Independent? Nominating Sarah Palin might go a long way in that direction. As long as she doesn’t choose a RINO like John McCain as her running mate.
